...in roughly 31 hours...

...not that 31 is some special magic number...it's just the number of hours I must endure from right now, until I will be on vacation from work.

A vacation from emails, a vacation from phone calls at 7am, a vacation from hiding pennies under toilet seat lids to see if they got cleaned, a vacation from leaving nasty notes as to why something didn't get done, but to find that the tv was still on the sports channel the next day, a vacation from whiny people (mostly myself!), a vacation from doctor appointments, a vacation from medication overload, a vacation from paperwork and schedules and meetings and reports and audits and faxes and supervision meetings with staff and watering the tomato plant that no one but me takes care of (that thing will be dead when I come back, I just know it!)...

[Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.....] being off for 11 days - PURE BLISS! So blissful that I'm going to paint our bedroom and the cat's room and reorganize our office. I'm going to photograph the world (and maybe read the emails & watch the videos from Candice Stringham's "OH SHOOT!" SLR class that I signed up for a month ago and never got past the first email because I was working too much, school started and it was just bad timing - but I have access to the class forever.) and I'm going to scrap like a mad woman! We aren't going anywhere special for a vacation - I really don't "vacation" well in the summer - too damn hot for me - but we are going to the Budweiser plant in Merrimac, NH Saturday with friends.

Just read this article that was posted over at Dooce.com about a child neglect story - I clung to that article just waiting, waiting for the good part...if you don't see this post for a few days or months, here is a direct link to the post "The girl in the window" it's the 8/6/08 entry.

So that's it for this exciting blog post today...stay tuned for more exciting gibberish soon!!
